Divergent Timelines:
If you know me, this may seem like a very dark comic, with odd implications. However, if you know the history of VerpMart (and as such, my history), you should make the connection. I stopped making the old comic around the time I got engaged to the beautiful Candace. It wasn't for any real reason other than the fact that I didn't have as much time to manage it anymore (not that I ever completed a substantial number to begin with). Today, almost five years later, I decided to start working on it again.
And that's where we see a split in the "timeline." Real life moved on, but the characters in the comic didn't. They're still as reckless, stupid, and carefree as they used to be, and I'm a well-adjusted husband with a great life.
Yes, I'm married. Yes, I now love cats (we have two). Yes, we just bought a house. No, I don't drive a minivan. But I love it. I have no regrets, and I certainly hope no one derives that idea from this comic. Today-Nate is happy and content. VerpMart-Nate is scared crapless by those ideas.
(for a deeper explanation of my "relationship" with the characters, see this post on Coffeebot.)
